been involved with hoot for about 2 years now the first session i went to was guitar orchestra then learnt to play ukelele with jess liked it so much i bought one of my own. learnt to play recorder at school but haver recently bought a flute quite easy to play as the fingerings a similar to recorder but what you do with your lips is very different. actually got 2 flutes a cheap plastic one ( only 1 1/2 octaves) and a more expensive metal one (3 1/2 octaves). The question i ask myself is would i have had the confidence to aspire to be a flute player had i not attend hoot?

Hoot\'s great! You get to be and do things you\'ve never been or done before. There\'s always some new challenge to grab if you want to. I don\'t know how I managed without it. Here\'s to the next 10years!!!! Scaredy pants
Started singing with Batley group in 2010, best thing I\'ve done in a long time. Loved finding my voice & meeting new people. Thanks Hoot!

I filled in a \'Do you want to be a volunteer?\'at the Hoot stand at the 2006 World Mental Health event at Hudds Uni. Before I even realised what was happening I\'d met with Kim, completed the amazing volunteer training, supported the Monday group Sonic Tonic, played djembe, learned African songs and sung them at the 5th Birthday Celebration Party. It was the first time I\'d sung in public for over 35years. I was absolutely terrified but I did it. I\'ll never forget the feeling elation, sense of achievement, pride and confidence I got from that journey. That\'s what Hoot does.

Loved the african drumming sessions you ran at Lifeline Kirklees. They were great fun. I really liked the african singing at St. Thomas\' Church too where I learned I wasn\'t tone deaf. Keep up the good work!
